A good bedroom does two jobs. It holds an enormous amount of stuff without looking like it, and it is somewhere you are glad to walk into at eleven at night.
Storage first
Almost every bedroom problem is a storage problem wearing a different coat. Fitted wardrobes to the ceiling, planned around what you actually own rather than a standard split of hanging and shelf. Mirrored or glass fronts where the room needs the light back. Proper internal lighting so you can see what is in there.
The wall behind the bed
An upholstered headboard wall, a panelled finish or a papered feature changes a bedroom more than anything else you can do to it, and it costs less than most people expect. It also solves the practical problem of where to put reading lights.
Light you can control
Bedside lights on their own switches. Something soft and low for the evening. A dressing area lit so you can see colours properly. Overhead lighting that you can turn down rather than only off.
Children’s rooms
Designed to grow up a little. The joinery and the layout stay, the soft parts change. That way the room lasts more than three years.
Work like this
Nothing in that category yet. Call Kasia and ask, because there is usually more than is published.
She understood what I wanted before I could say it.
She somehow always understood exactly what I wanted. Really good with understanding the vibe.
Understood exactly what I wanted, even the things I could not quite put into words.
It freed me up to focus on other jobs while this one was getting organised by Kasia.
