Interior Design in Newton Mearns

Newer houses, larger rooms, and interiors that are often still the developer specification years after everyone moved in.

The houses here

Newton Mearns is dominated by modern detached housing, with a good deal built from the 1980s onward and a lot more recently around Maidenhill and Barrhead Road. The floor plans are generous by Scottish standards and the bones are usually sound.

What Kasia is usually asked to do

The work here is rarely structural. It is upgrading what the developer put in. Kitchens and bathrooms specified to a build cost rather than to how anybody actually lives. Bedrooms with freestanding furniture in rooms that were designed for fitted. Rooms with no lighting plan beyond a ring of downlights.

Worth knowing

A newer house makes a bathroom or a principal suite go further, because the layout does not need fighting. The terrazzo attic bathroom in the portfolio is the sort of thing that becomes possible when the structure is not the problem.

How it works

The first step is a free 30-minute call. After that Kasia comes to the house, because the house is the brief. You get a full 3D design before anything is ordered, and one person managing every trade from then until you get the keys back.
