The houses here
Giffnock is largely Edwardian and interwar: red sandstone semis and terraces around Fenwick Road and Eastwood, and 1930s detached and semi-detached further out. Original cornice, bay windows, good ceiling heights and proper proportions.
What Kasia is usually asked to do
Almost every job here involves making the back of the house as good as the front. The public rooms are usually worth restoring rather than changing. The kitchen, the utility and the bathroom are where the money goes.
Worth knowing
In a house with original plaster detail, the right answer is almost always to keep it and work around it. Ripping out cornice to fit a flush ceiling is a decision people regret and cannot undo.
How it works
The first step is a free 30-minute call. After that Kasia comes to the house, because the house is the brief. You get a full 3D design before anything is ordered, and one person managing every trade from then until you get the keys back.
