Fifteen years of other people’s homes.

I am Kasia Barrie. For over fifteen years I have designed homes and managed renovations across Glasgow, Central Scotland and Ayrshire. Kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms and whole-house transformations, all shaped around how a family actually lives rather than how a room photographs.

What people usually say

The thing that comes back most often in reviews is some version of the same sentence: that I understood what they wanted before they could put it into words. I take that as the job description. Most people know exactly how they want a house to feel and have no vocabulary for it, and that is completely normal. Part of what you are paying for is somebody who can hear it anyway.

A designer, and a team

I am not a one-woman operation who hands you a drawing and wishes you luck. There is a full team behind me: joiners, electricians, plumbers, tilers, stonemasons and decorators I have worked with for years, and who know the standard before they arrive.

What you get is one point of contact. You ring me. I know what happened on site yesterday, what is being delivered on Thursday and what decision I need from you by Friday. You are never the person relaying a message between two trades who have not spoken.

The showroom comes to you

I do not ask people to come and sit in a showroom. I come to your house, because the house is the brief. How the light moves through it, where everybody actually ends up, which room nobody uses and why. You cannot read any of that from a floor plan.

You see it before it is built

Every project gets a full 3D design and walkthrough before a single thing is ordered. It is the part clients tell me made the biggest difference, because it turns a set of decisions you are guessing at into a room you can stand in and change your mind about while changing your mind is still free.

Going away while it happens

More than one client has handed over the keys and gone on holiday. That works because the decisions were made properly at design stage, because the same trades are on site week after week, and because somebody is responsible. That somebody is me.

Where I work

Glasgow and the towns around it, mostly within about an hour. Bearsden, Milngavie, Newton Mearns, Giffnock, Clarkston, Bothwell, Kilmacolm, Helensburgh, through to Stirling and down into Ayrshire. If you are a little outside that, ask anyway.
