The installation is part of the job, not something you arrange separately. Fitted by locally trusted tradesmen.

What the 3D design actually is

Not a mood board and not a sketch. A full three-dimensional model of your room that you can walk through, with the real materials, the real cabinetry and the real light. You see where the sun lands in the afternoon and whether the island is the right length before anybody has ordered a slab of stone.

It takes one to two weeks to produce and it is the single thing that removes most of the risk from a renovation. Changing your mind in the model costs nothing. Changing your mind on site costs a great deal.

How the budget conversation works

It happens at step two, before any design work starts. A realistic figure, what is included, where it is worth spending more and where it genuinely is not. And a contingency, because a renovation without one is a wish rather than a budget.

Who is actually on site

Locally trusted tradesmen, the same people project after project. They are not subcontracted out to whoever is free that week. They know the standard and they know I will be back to look at it.

Who you ring

Kasia, from the first call to the day you get the keys back, which is the reason the whole thing holds together.

Questions people ask

How long does a kitchen take?

From the first call to a finished kitchen is usually somewhere between three and five months, and most of that is not the fitting. Design and approvals take two to three weeks, cabinetry and stone have lead times of six to twelve weeks depending on what is specified, and the fit itself is typically two to three weeks on site.

Do I need to move out?

For a single room, no. For a whole-house renovation or an extension, most people stay and put up with it, and some move out for the worst four to six weeks. We plan the order of work around whichever you choose, and it is worth deciding early because it changes the sequencing.

Do you work with my builder?

Yes, if they are good. Plenty of projects start with a builder already appointed. What matters is that one person is holding the design decisions together, and that the trades are happy to work to a drawn scheme rather than making it up as they go.

What does it cost?

It depends entirely on the scope, which is why the budget conversation happens before the design does. What is consistent is that you get a figure up front rather than a number that creeps. If your budget and the brief do not meet, I would rather tell you at the first call than six weeks in.

Do you only do high-end work?

No. The approach is the same whatever the budget, because the value is in the decisions rather than the price of the materials. A well-planned modest kitchen beats an expensive one in the wrong layout every time.

Can you just tell me what is wrong with my house?

Yes, that is house whispering. I walk the house with you, work out what is actually not working and give you a plan in order of impact. Plenty of people take that away and do it themselves.
